The first and second graders in Ms. Cashman’s Title I class at St. Bridget School have been studying compound words. So they learned a compound word is formed from two words to make a new word with a new meaning.

First Graders’ Compound Words

The first graders drew a picture of each individual word. Then they drew a picture of the new compound word.
