Students Learn from Scientist

Central Virginia Parent Workshop Meeting

Students and Scientist at Central Virginia Parent Workshop

Central Virginia Title I students and their parents came to All Saints School on November 17, 2009, for a night full of learning.

While everyone enjoyed a pizza dinner, parents and children thought of a word for each letter of the alphabet related to air pressure.  This activity helped children get ready for a wonderful science presentation about air pressure.

It was a very interactive, hands-on presentation that kept students from pre-kindergarten through middle school interested and learning!  The students watched and participated in air pressure experiments led by the "Mad Scientist."

While students enjoyed the  science workshop, parents Teaching Booksattended workshops to learn how to use nonfiction books and word sorts to help with reading at home.

At the end of the night, each Title I student was able to pick one nonfiction book to take home and keep.
