Play Snow Recipe for Crafting Snowy Scenes

Read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.

Make Play Snow and craft a snowy day
picture with it. You'll need powdered
Ivory Snow (detergent), water, a mixing
bowl, cardboard, and an electric mixer.
To decorate your snowy day picture,
you might want pictures cut out of old
magazines or greeting cards.

  1. Mix the Ivory Snow and a bit of water in the bowl with an electric mixer.
Gradually add more water and beat on the high speed.

  2. Continue mixing on high speed until the mixture is as thick as meringue
when the mixing blades are lifted
    out of the "snow."
  3. Spread the "snow" on the cardboard wherever you want snow in your snowy day picture.
  4. If you like, to complete your picture, add things cut from old magazines or greeting cards. Stick the pictures in the "snow."
  5. Let the "snow" in your picture dry.
